California Bar Exam 2012

BARWINNERS has an *87% Pass Rate for Repeaters taking the California Bar Exam. (**The published statistics by the State Bar of California for the July 2010 California bar exam pass rate for repeaters is 21.6%-see below for the repeater pass rate by school.)
If you are a repeater, we can help you pass the bar exam.

We know that you’ve studied hard, and that you knew enough substantive law to pass the bar exam when you failed it.

The reason first time takers fail, is that they spend too much time trying to learn volumes of materials contained in their big Bar Review Course’s commercial outlines, and don’t spend enough time applying what they’ve learned to actual practice essays, performance tests, and multiple choice questions. If that sounds like you, read on.

Many of you, were lured into a false sense of security about the essays, because of high scores on practice exams from your bar exam prep course. When you turned essays in, you were given false assurances because of generous grading with little or no feedback.

When you Enroll in BARWINNERS—Passing the Bar Exam

When you enroll in BARWINNERS, all of that is about to change for the better. BARWINNERS is a very structured program with clear, timely, focused feedback with bar-like grading on simulated exams so you can pass the bar exam.

You have come home to a safe place where you will get the help you need to pass ca the bar exam.

ESSAYS-We Teach You a Workable Approach

Our materials are in an Approach format designed to help repeaters. We have chosen for you, what you need to write when that issue is tested on the essays. We give you the structure, format, headnotes, and content that the Bar Examiners want to see for the issues tested. All you have to do is fill in the applicable facts. We have done all the writing for you and all the selecting of the most heavily tested issues and sub issues with what analysis to write. We give you what you need to write on your actual bar exam essays. We have done the work for you. BARWINNERS’ Approach Book outlines are the perfect length--not too long or too short. They are ideal for writing and passing the California bar exam essays.

Practice is Essential

A common mistake First-time takers make, is to wait to practice writing essays until you feel you know the material completely. If you wait until you've memorized all of your outlines you may never have the time to hone the techniques needed to write passing essays. Just as learning the black letter law takes time, mastering the skills to write passing bar essays takes time.

Writing Law School Exams—Not the Same As Writing Bar Essays

Many repeaters assumed that writing bar essays are the same as law school essays. Bar essays are not the same as law school essays and the graders have very specific expectations about what must be addressed in a passing essay.

This is why the published bar exam pass rate for the California Bar Exam in July, is usually around 54% and the published bar exam California Bar Exam pass rate for February, is around 31%. The bar examiners take 1-3 minutes to grade your essays and your performance test. You must give them what they are looking for. Your answer doesn’t need to be brilliant and it should never be “original” or out of the box.

Passing the Bar Exam

The California Bar Exam is a standardized test and they are looking for a standardized, structured, formatted answer. Most of your essay answers can be pre-formatted and pre-written using boilerplate format and structure provided by BARWINNERS.

Simulated Bar Exams-Passing the Bar Exam

BARWINNERS has you write practice essays, under simulated bar exam conditions, and gives you personalized feedback and accurate grading from attorney’s and former California bar exam graders within 5 days, so you can pass the bar.

Therefore, you will practice applying what we have shown you, under actual Simulated Exam conditions for the essays, performance test and multistate exam.

We know you need help in applying what you know to the exam in the format, and in that the bar examiners are looking for so you can Pass the Bar Exam. You are a good writer. You need practice with format, structure, organization, and analysis.

Performance Workshop
Learn to Unlock the Secrets of the Performance Test in 15 Minutes

Timing Issues

The way the Performance Test is handled by most California Bar Review Courses makes a difficult test only more intimidating and unmanageable. Other California Bar Prep lecturers come from legal research or appellate work and don’t know how to translate that into teaching effective Performance test skills. The systems other California Bar Review Course’s teach fail to recognize how time pressures (not to mention test anxiety) make these fact-synthesizing monster performance tests difficult to analyze, outline and write in the allotted time. One California Bar Review Course tells students that “there is no way to prepare for the Performance Test” and leaves it at that! That is bunk. There is a way to prepare you effectively and efficiently for this portion of the California Bar Exam and BARWINNERS will show you how so you can Pass the bar exam.

Organization Skills-Passing the CA Bar Exam Performance Tests

First and foremost, BARWINNERS addresses timing issues to ensure that all students are able to effectively organize and present the key points necessary to pass the bar. Our unique Performance Test method eliminates the “reading, writing, and briefing-twice” syndrome that some California Bar Review Courses encourage, and cuts back sharply on the provisional paperwork. Organization is essential: we offer practical short-cuts that eliminate all the paper clutter and show you how to make maximum use of your laptop to cut down on duplication, double work, and double entries. Timing is critical: we demonstrate how you can control the material instead of letting the material control you. Our Performance Workshop will show you how to unlock the secrets to a performance test in the first fifteen minutes. Where many California Bar Prep Courses try to approach the different tasks asked by the CA Bar Exam on the Performance Test, by training you only in visually formatting the document (making it look visually like a court document) we show you how to approach all tasks in a manner that organizes your answer to deliver to the grader the requested substance requested by the task memo.

Performance Test is More Than 25% of Your Total Score

The Performance Test dramatically impacts your final score because it counts for more than 25% of your total score. Each performance test equals two essays; so, the two performance tests are worth four essays. Since the Performance Test is such a large percentage of the exam, a strong score can compensate for average or weak MBE scores or grades elsewhere on the exam.

MBE Workshop—Repeaters—Passing the Bar Exam

If your MBE score was the reason you did not pass the bar we have a comprehensive MBE Workshop that teaches you all the tricks, nuances, and patterns, so you can easily raise your MBE score to passing. Our MBE Workshop is 4-full days with two simulated Multi-State exams, outstanding instruction, and a 2,000-plus question MBE Workbook.

Why the Repeater Bar Exam Pass Rate Is So Low for the California Bar Exam (21.6%-Official Statistics July 2010 bar exam)

The Trauma of Repeating the Bar Exam

You have accomplished so much in your life. And like me, you probably never failed anything in your life until the California Bar Exam. It is a shock, and can leave you feeling angry, frustrated, defeated and questioning whether you want to be a lawyer and even would make a good attorney.

You are not alone. In fact, you are in Celebrity Company. The former Dean of Stanford Law School, Kathleen Sullivan (and possibly a supreme court nominee) failed the California bar exam. So did California Gov. Jerry Brown while former Gov. Pete Wilson needed four attempts. The mayor of Los Angeles, Antonio R. Villaraigosa, never did pass the bar exam, after failing four times. Hillary Clinton failed the D.C. bar exam. John F. Kennedy Jr., failed the New York Bar three times. (Read more: http://www.postgazette.com/pg/05340/618227.stm#ixzz1IWuzSdFb).

Passing the California Bar Exam does not test whether you will make a good attorney. Just like passing your driving test at the DMV does not predict if you will be a good driver.

With the help of our Test-Taking Specialists, we will help you deal with unresolved feelings and emotions lingering from the trauma of not passing the bar exam. We know you worked hard and studied hard. We know you are smart and can go on to have a successful career in law and/or politics. We know you can do it and will tailor your California Bar Review to meet what you need.

BARWINNERS is here for you every step of the way—small, live, intensive classes. In addition to our Intensive California Bar Review Course, we have tutorial programs and will provide you with the perfect California Bar Exam Tutor to meet your needs so you can pass the bar and move on with your life.

*This pass rate is for students from ABA schools who attend all Barwinners’ classes, do the assigned homework, participate and turn in on-time all simulated essay, performance, and MBE Exams and who follow feedback and instruction from the Course, it’s instructors, tutors and/or Owner. Students who do not do what the Course, the instructors, Owner and/or tutor tells them or instructs them to do, may not have the same high pass rate.

Barwinners was the reason I passed the ca bar exam. It not only broke down exactly what law I needed to know but it also taught me how to take the test. Presenting the information the way the bar examiners want to see it is key and I passed the exam that had the lowest passing rate in 8 years.

I was a repeat taker and I had no idea how I was going to bounce back from failing the first bar exam. It feels awful to fail an exam that you put so much time and effort into. However, the rigorous study schedule kept me focused and Shari really inspires confidence that you can succeed. This course is great for people who are bad at taking tests like me.

This course really lays out what you need to know and most importantly the way you need to present the information to the bar examiners. I passed the February Bar Exam because of Bar Winners. My bar preparation made a test that only 33.5% of applicants passed quite manageable. The course is expensive, but only because they buy the rights to actual questions, which is something you won't find in many other courses. And if you ask me, it is a small price to pay to be able to move on with the rest of your life.

I would like to thank you for helping me pass the February Bar exam. Your Course helped me achieve my dream of becoming an attorney. Your experience, enthusiasm and genuine concern for law students struggling to become lawyers is an attribute which all bar preparation courses must seek to achieve.

Your Course is the best bar review course because of the tremendous attention and feedback that you and your colleagues provide to every student. Specifically, the typed comments provided after every essay and performance exams helped me understand my strengths and weaknesses and ultimately to improve my writing stills.

Also, your approaches to writing a bar exam. After I memorized the approaches to every subject I had an organized and sensible way of approaching each and every issue on the bar. It made the difference for me and I am very thankful.

The entire BARWINNERS TEAM created an environment that was positive, caring yet clear and precise with what we had to do in order to pass the bar. Made the bar seem like a quiz that every one of us could pass. Whereas, my friends in other programs were running scared the whole time because the instructors made the bar out to be this huge insurmountable obstacle. Thank you for keeping me grounded and for making me laugh.
