Executive power, preemptions and earthquakes, oh my!

All I can say is thank god for BarWinners! Especially the Performance Test strategy! The morning's fun: one all-PR question, one all-Contracts question, and one Con Law question that was... interesting. As in, does the President have the authority for a particular order, does that preempt a state law that "piggybacks" on it, if Congress shot down the same idea, can the President go ahead with it? It was a joy.

And the earthquake was entertaining - at least they gave us a few extra minutes for it. I'm out at Ontario, which is only like ten miles from the epicenter - we were rocking and rolling for a good minute! I've recognized at least four other people from class here.

Anyway, I can't say enough about BARWINNERS but particularly your Performance Test Workshop- the strategy was pure gold and I laughed to myself about the people who just plunged in and started typing! I felt great about mine - if I get less than a 70, I'll be shocked.

By the way, I spoke with a friend who had taken another smaller bar prep course --he commented that the grading of their practice exams was really inconsistent and the their system complex and chaoticp-and so he wasn't really sure where he stood. So kudos (even more of them) to BarWinners for your great scoring of our stuff!

I was just thinking about you yesterday! I could not have done it without you!

Your class did in fact help me develop not simply in my bar study but as a person. You did really shake me to the core with your words about growing up and pulling myself out of situations. I realize now how dependent I was on other people and how that only hurt me.

With law school and the bar, I was faced with doing something that did not come easy to me and if it had not been for you, I would not have made it.

If you had babied me, I would not have had that push that I needed. And now, I receive your beautiful letter and realize the difference between receiving approval for the sake of approval and receiving it upon actually earning it. I felt truly blessed reading it and I BELIEVED what you said because I know I earned it. So, thank you for not giving it to me earlier and thank you for helping me get here.

I am happy to be employed and feel more stable than I ever have. I have a job, income, an office and credibility. Maybe when you are not so crazed with bar review you can help me find my life path. (rumor has it you're a life coach?!)

So, thank you again for your amazing email. I was truly touched and I feel honored to have such an amazing soul say those things to me. Thank you!

I took it upon myself to call Southwestern and let them know about Barwinners. Here’s a copy of the letter I sent to the school:

I took Shari Karney's bar preparation course. It is called Barwinners/The Karney Course.

It is an amazing class with wonderful faculty instructors. Shari has been teaching this class I believe for 25 years and her students' passage rate is very high - something like 94% for first time takers, and 87.5% for repeat takers. The class is a bit more expensive than other classes, however it is worth every penny.

I highly recommend this class. I passed on my first try and I really believe that it was because of Shari Karney and her whole team. The professor who teaches the performance exam portion is outstanding. All the instructors, including Shari Karney were very very good.

I just wanted to pass along the information because I know that nobody wants to have to go through the experience of taking the bar twice.

I don't think a lot of students at Southwestern have heard about BARWINNERS and Shari Karney. Many students BARWINNERS focuses on how to write the exam which is so important since about 70% of the Bar is writing and the bar graders are looking for a certain format. It is said that a bar grader spends about 2-5 minutes only reading an essay - an essay which takes the examinee one hour to write.

I really think it would be beneficial for Southwestern students to know about BARWINNERS and Shari Karney’s class.

Letter to Dean at Chapman Law School

My name is Jason Guerra, an alumnus of Chapman Law School .

You might be pleased to know that I passed the Bar on my first attempt thanks to a bar preparation course called Barwinners. As you can see, the purpose of this email is to let you know that I had an amazing experience using Barwinners.

Based on my mediocre grades in law school, I thought that passing the Bar would be an extremely difficult task. Luckily, I took BARWINNERS because it allowed me to be fully prepared and confident on exam day. It was an amazing bar prep course especially with respect to its emphasis on essay writing.

Compared to other law schools in Orange County Chapman appears to fare better than others in terms of academics. But since Chapman typically draws a higher caliber student, I believe the bar pass rate could be a lot of higher if the law school placed more emphasis on associating itself with bar courses/programs that really work instead of allowing students to be lured into impersonal, factory-style programs.

As you can see, the purpose of this email is to let you know what a remarkable bar review course Barwinners is and what a wonderful experience I had with Barwinners. I am not being compensated in any way for this message, but I simply feel compelled to share my positive experience. I would suggest inviting principal of Barwinners Shari Karney, Esq. to the campus annually and keep her in the loop so that students will have the benefit of better options in choosing a bar prep course.

The classes were great, but the small group tutoring sessions were awesome. I know I'm a decent writer, but I clearly wasn't connecting with the Bar Readers. The group tutorial sessions helped spot and fix specific problems with my writing style - not just the 'common mistakes' everyone makes. Then, during your Simulated Exams, I was able to put my new skills to work. Thanks to the thorough and prompt feedback I received on every simulated exam. WOW. I could quickly see where I was getting better and where I still needed work. BARWINNERS GOLD YOU'VE GOT THE MOJO.
